Disney PIN Codes

Alright, you've all heard me complain to no end about not getting deals emailed or mailed to me so far this winter. For some reason, even though my wife and I are registered with Disney under different emails, and we are stockholders, and request the Vacation Planning DVD each year, we NEVER get PIN codes emailed to us! We are dying to get a 40% off code, so that we can go this year, but Disney Dean just doesn't get a code. Now, with that said, I do believe that the heavy duty deals will be extended at some point into the fall/winter, but it's just sooo hard to wait!

As a frequent visitor to DisBoards.com, the consensus is that there is no real 'formula' for determining who will get a discount PIN emailed or mailed to someone. There are some theories, but they don't usually pan out. Here are a couple things you can do to make sure you are getting the emails, with some suggestions from mommy*RN on DisBoards.

- Make sure you check your SPAM folder of your email system periodically. Many people on DisBoards have reported that the email has gone into their SPAM folder. The email will come from Disney Destinations.
- Update your profile on disneyworld.com
- create "extra" profiles on disneyworld.com
- price out mock vacations on disneyworld.com (under a profile), and then exit before booking. When you are asked to give the reason that you didn't book, mention that the price was too high and there were no discounts.
- request and receive the trip planning DVD (some people get a discount PIN in this - not me!)
- create custom maps
- call to ask Disney Travel agents whether you have a code attached to your name. If an agent tells you that they can't look that up, hang up and call again.
- sign up for a Disney Visa card
- enter their trip giveaway contests often (daily if possible)
- add Disney Destinations to your email contacts list

Disney Buy 4 Get 3 Free To Be Extended

I think I'm a few days late in letting people know about this, but it appears that the Disney Buy 4 - Get 3 Free Deal will be extended for travel dates through August 15, 2009. The previous date was June 27, 2009. Have you already booked for travel between June 27th and August 15th? You should be able to call and get the deal applied with a rebooking. This begins on Monday, February 9th, so you may need to wait until then. No word yet whether there will be gift cards also issued during any specific booking times for the new time period. The date of August 15th may have some significance this year. Each of the past few years, Disney has offered Free dining starting at the end of August. If it does offer Free dining this year, we would likely find out again in the Spring. It is first offered as a 'bounce back' to guests that stayed during certain times in the previous year. It is then offered to Disney Visa Rewards card holders, and then to the general public. Rooms are limited, but there are usually many rooms offered. If you have any questions, please let me know. I'm always glad to help people find the very best deals out there. Or, you can work with a Disney travel agent. There are many great Disney TA's out there, that will work to apply the best deals for you. If you don't want to keep looking to see if you are getting the best deal, a Disney travel agent may be the way to go. You don't pay any extra - they receive compensation from Disney - and you get the benefit of personal planning. Anxious to hear your deals! We're going in November, so we're hoping that some deals will be extended at some point into the fall. We didn't receive a discount PIN in the mail or email, so right now everything for that time period is full price for us! Yikes! If we do get a good deal, we are thinking of staying at the Polynesian. The four of us go with my awesome mother-in-law, and we would just get one room. Last time we stayed at the Fort Wilderness cabins, and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVED them! This would be a close second option for us, as we love being close to the Trails End Buffet (great value by the way) and we love how quiet it is. Anyway, I will keep you posted as more deals arrive!
